CVSS v3.1 |
Multiple heap-based buffer overflows in the virtio-blk driver (hw/virtio-blk.c) in qemu-kvm 0.14.0 allow local guest users to cause a denial of service (guest crash) and possibly gain privileges via a (1) write request to the virtio_blk_handle_write function or (2) read request to the virtio_blk_handle_read function that is not properly aligned.
Heap-based buffer overflow in the read_channel_data function in file-psp.c in the Paint Shop Pro (PSP) plugin in GIMP 2.6.11 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) or possibly execute arbitrary code via a PSP_COMP_RLE (aka RLE compression) image file that begins a long run count at the end of the image. NOTE: some of these details are obtained from third party information.
The X.509if dissector in Wireshark 1.2.x before 1.2.16 and 1.4.x before 1.4.5 does not properly initialize certain global variables, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) via a crafted .pcap file.
Heap-based buffer overflow in the parse_cgroup_spec function in tools/tools-common.c in the Control Group Configuration Library (aka libcgroup or libcg) before 0.37.1 allows local users to gain privileges via a crafted controller list on the command line of an application. NOTE: it is not clear whether this issue crosses privilege boundaries.
Redis is an in-memory database that persists on disk. In Redit 7.0 prior to 7.0.12, extracting key names from a command and a list of arguments may, in some cases, trigger a heap overflow and result in reading random heap memory, heap corruption and potentially remote code execution. Several scenarios that may lead to authenticated users executing a specially crafted `COMMAND GETKEYS` or `COMMAND GETKEYSANDFLAGS`and authenticated users who were set with ACL rules that match key names, executing a specially crafted command that refers to a variadic list of key names. The vulnerability is patched in Redis 7.0.12.
This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of NIKON NIS-Elements Viewer 1.2100.1483.0. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The specific flaw exists within the parsing of BMP images. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of the length of user-supplied data prior to copying it to a heap-based buffer. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current process. Was ZDI-CAN-15134.
A CWE-122 “Heap-based Buffer Overflow” vulnerability in the “logger_generic” function of the “Ax_rtu” binary allows a remote authenticated attacker to trigger a memory corruption in the context of the binary. This may result in a Denial-of-Service (DoS) condition, possibly in the execution of arbitrary code with the same privileges of the process (root), or have other unspecified impacts on the device. This issue affects: AiLux imx6 bundle below version imx6_1.0.7-2.

In wlan driver, there is a possible missing bounds check. This could lead to local denial of service in wlan services.

Out-of-bounds Read in GitHub repository vim/vim prior to 9.0.1143.
Heap-based Buffer Overflow in GitHub repository vim/vim prior to 9.0.1144.
Heap-based buffer overflow in the mch_expand_wildcards function in os_unix.c in Vim 6.2 and 6.3 allows user-assisted attackers to execute arbitrary code via shell metacharacters in filenames, as demonstrated by the netrw.v3 test case.
Heap-based buffer overflow in the parse_tag_3_packet function in fs/ecryptfs/keystore.c in the eCryptfs subsystem in the Linux kernel before 2.6.30.4 allows local users to cause a denial of service (system crash) or possibly gain privileges via vectors involving a crafted eCryptfs file, related to a large encrypted key size in a Tag 3 packet.
Heap-based buffer overflow in ext/mbstring/libmbfl/filters/mbfilter_htmlent.c in the mbstring extension in PHP 4.3.0 through 5.2.6 allows context-dependent attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted string containing an HTML entity, which is not properly handled during Unicode conversion, related to the (1) mb_convert_encoding, (2) mb_check_encoding, (3) mb_convert_variables, and (4) mb_parse_str functions.
Heap-based buffer overflow in the cdf_read_sat function in src/cdf.c in Christos Zoulas file 5.00 allows user-assisted remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted compound document file, as demonstrated by a .msi, .doc, or .mpp file. NOTE: some of these details are obtained from third party information.
