In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath9k: hif_usb: fix memory leak of urbs in ath9k_hif_usb_dealloc_tx_urbs() Syzkaller reports a long-known leak of urbs in ath9k_hif_usb_dealloc_tx_urbs(). The cause of the leak is that usb_get_urb() is called but usb_free_urb() (or usb_put_urb()) is not called inside usb_kill_urb() as urb->dev or urb->ep fields have not been initialized and usb_kill_urb() returns immediately. The patch removes trying to kill urbs located in hif_dev->tx.tx_buf because hif_dev->tx.tx_buf is not supposed to contain urbs which are in pending state (the pending urbs are stored in hif_dev->tx.tx_pending). The tx.tx_lock is acquired so there should not be any changes in the list. Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with Syzkaller.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: erofs: validate the extent length for uncompressed pclusters syzkaller reported a KASAN use-after-free: https://syzkaller.appspot.com/bug?extid=2ae90e873e97f1faf6f2 The referenced fuzzed image actually has two issues: - m_pa == 0 as a non-inlined pcluster; - The logical length is longer than its physical length. The first issue has already been addressed. This patch addresses the second issue by checking the extent length validity.

However, brelse() is called by udf_rename(), too. So, b_count on buffer_head becomes unbalanced. This patch fixes the issue by not calling brelse() by udf_rename() when udf_find_entry() returns NULL.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: set generation before calling btrfs_clean_tree_block in btrfs_init_new_buffer syzbot is reporting uninit-value in btrfs_clean_tree_block() [1], for commit bc877d285ca3dba2 ("btrfs: Deduplicate extent_buffer init code") missed that btrfs_set_header_generation() in btrfs_init_new_buffer() must not be moved to after clean_tree_block() because clean_tree_block() is calling btrfs_header_generation() since commit 55c69072d6bd5be1 ("Btrfs: Fix extent_buffer usage when nodesize != leafsize"). Since memzero_extent_buffer() will reset "struct btrfs_header" part, we can't move btrfs_set_header_generation() to before memzero_extent_buffer(). Just re-add btrfs_set_header_generation() before btrfs_clean_tree_block().

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mmc: mxcmmc: fix return value check of mmc_add_host() mmc_add_host() may return error, if we ignore its return value, the memory that allocated in mmc_alloc_host() will be leaked and it will lead a kernel crash because of deleting not added device in the remove path. So fix this by checking the return value and goto error path which will call mmc_free_host().

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fortify: Fix __compiletime_strlen() under UBSAN_BOUNDS_LOCAL With CONFIG_FORTIFY=y and CONFIG_UBSAN_LOCAL_BOUNDS=y enabled, we observe a runtime panic while running Android's Compatibility Test Suite's (CTS) android.hardware.input.cts.tests. This is stemming from a strlen() call in hidinput_allocate(). __compiletime_strlen() is implemented in terms of __builtin_object_size(), then does an array access to check for NUL-termination. A quirk of __builtin_object_size() is that for strings whose values are runtime dependent, __builtin_object_size(str, 1 or 0) returns the maximum size of possible values when those sizes are determinable at compile time. Example: static const char *v = "FOO BAR"; static const char *y = "FOO BA"; unsigned long x (int z) { // Returns 8, which is: // max(__builtin_object_size(v, 1), __builtin_object_size(y, 1)) return __builtin_object_size(z ? v : y, 1); } So when FORTIFY_SOURCE is enabled, the current implementation of __compiletime_strlen() will try to access beyond the end of y at runtime using the size of v. Mixed with UBSAN_LOCAL_BOUNDS we get a fault. hidinput_allocate() has a local C string whose value is control flow dependent on a switch statement, so __builtin_object_size(str, 1) evaluates to the maximum string length, making all other cases fault on the last character check. hidinput_allocate() could be cleaned up to avoid runtime calls to strlen() since the local variable can only have literal values, so there's no benefit to trying to fortify the strlen call site there. Perform a __builtin_constant_p() check against index 0 earlier in the macro to filter out the control-flow-dependant case. Add a KUnit test for checking the expected behavioral characteristics of FORTIFY_SOURCE internals.

The Async JavaScript plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting in versions up to, and including, 2.19.07.14. This is due to missing authorization checks on the aj_steps AJAX aciton along with a lack on sanitization on the settings saved via the function. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers with subscriber level permissions and above to inject malicious web scripts into a page that execute whenever a user accesses that page.

The AdRotate Banner Manager – The only ad manager you'll need plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file uploads due to missing file extension sanitization in the adrotate_insert_media() function in all versions up to, and including, 5.13.2. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with administrator-level access and above, to upload arbitrary files with double extensions on the affected site's server which may make remote code execution possible. This is only exploitable on select instances where the configuration will execute the first extension present.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: dvb-usb: fix memory leak in dvb_usb_adapter_init() Syzbot reports a memory leak in "dvb_usb_adapter_init()". The leak is due to not accounting for and freeing current iteration's adapter->priv in case of an error. Currently if an error occurs, it will exit before incrementing "num_adapters_initalized", which is used as a reference counter to free all adap->priv in "dvb_usb_adapter_exit()". There are multiple error paths that can exit from before incrementing the counter. Including the error handling paths for "dvb_usb_adapter_stream_init()", "dvb_usb_adapter_dvb_init()" and "dvb_usb_adapter_frontend_init()" within "dvb_usb_adapter_init()". This means that in case of an error in any of these functions the current iteration is not accounted for and the current iteration's adap->priv is not freed. Fix this by freeing the current iteration's adap->priv in the "stream_init_err:" label in the error path. The rest of the (accounted for) adap->priv objects are freed in dvb_usb_adapter_exit() as expected using the num_adapters_initalized variable. When processing a server response to a LIST command, the client fails to properly validate the length of filenames.
