| CVE-2026-31412 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-04-10 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: gadget: f_mass_storage: Fix potential integer overflow in check_command_size_in_blocks() The `check_command_size_in_blocks()` function calculates the data size in bytes by left shifting `common->data_size_from_cmnd` by the block size (`common->curlun->blkbits`). However, it does not validate whether this shift operation will cause an integer overflow. Initially, the block size is set up in `fsg_lun_open()` , and the `common->data_size_from_cmnd` is set up in `do_scsi_command()`. During initialization, there is no integer overflow check for the interaction between two variables. So if a malicious USB host sends a SCSI READ or WRITE command requesting a large amount of data (`common->data_size_from_cmnd`), the left shift operation can wrap around. This results in a truncated data size, which can bypass boundary checks and potentially lead to memory corruption or out-of-bounds accesses. Fix this by using the check_shl_overflow() macro to safely perform the shift and catch any overflows. | ||||
| CVE-2026-4426 | 2 Libarchive, Redhat | 5 Libarchive, Enterprise Linux, Hummingbird and 2 more | 2026-04-10 | 6.5 Medium |
| A flaw was found in libarchive. An Undefined Behavior vulnerability exists in the zisofs decompression logic, caused by improper validation of a field (`pz_log2_bs`) read from ISO9660 Rock Ridge extensions. A remote attacker can exploit this by supplying a specially crafted ISO file. This can lead to incorrect memory allocation and potential application crashes, resulting in a denial-of-service (DoS) condition. | ||||
| CVE-2023-52810 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-01-05 | 8.4 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fs/jfs: Add check for negative db_l2nbperpage l2nbperpage is log2(number of blks per page), and the minimum legal value should be 0, not negative. In the case of l2nbperpage being negative, an error will occur when subsequently used as shift exponent. Syzbot reported this bug: UBSAN: shift-out-of-bounds in fs/jfs/jfs_dmap.c:799:12 shift exponent -16777216 is negative | ||||
| CVE-2016-9842 | 8 Apple, Canonical, Debian and 5 more | 22 Iphone Os, Mac Os X, Tvos and 19 more | 2025-12-04 | 8.8 High |
| The inflateMark function in inflate.c in zlib 1.2.8 might allow context-dependent attackers to have unspecified impact via vectors involving left shifts of negative integers. | ||||
| CVE-2025-46152 | 2 Linuxfoundation, Pytorch | 2 Pytorch, Pytorch | 2025-10-03 | 5.3 Medium |
| In PyTorch before 2.7.0, bitwise_right_shift produces incorrect output for certain out-of-bounds values of the "other" argument. | ||||
| CVE-2024-56431 | 1 Xiph | 1 Theora | 2025-05-07 | 9.8 Critical |
| oc_huff_tree_unpack in huffdec.c in libtheora in Theora through 1.0 7180717 has an invalid negative left shift. NOTE: this is disputed by third parties because there is no evidence of a security impact, e.g., an application would not crash. | ||||
| CVE-2021-47263 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2025-05-04 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: gpio: wcd934x: Fix shift-out-of-bounds error bit-mask for pins 0 to 4 is BIT(0) to BIT(4) however we ended up with BIT(n - 1) which is not right, and this was caught by below usban check UBSAN: shift-out-of-bounds in drivers/gpio/gpio-wcd934x.c:34:14 | ||||
| CVE-2025-32029 | 2025-04-08 | N/A | ||
| ts-asn1-der is a collection of utility classes to encode ASN.1 data following DER rule. Incorrect number DER encoding can lead to denial on service for absolute values in the range 2**31 -- 2**32 - 1. The arithmetic in the numBitLen didn't take into account that values in this range could result in a negative result upon applying the >> operator, leading to an infinite loop. The issue is patched in version 1.0.4. If upgrading is not an option, the issue can be mitigated by validating inputs to Asn1Integer to ensure that they are not smaller than -2**31 + 1 and no larger than 2**31 - 1. | ||||
| CVE-2023-3161 | 3 Fedoraproject, Linux, Redhat | 5 Fedora, Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux and 2 more | 2025-03-11 | 5.5 Medium |
| A flaw was found in the Framebuffer Console (fbcon) in the Linux Kernel. When providing font->width and font->height greater than 32 to fbcon_set_font, since there are no checks in place, a shift-out-of-bounds occurs leading to undefined behavior and possible denial of service. | ||||
